Never mind, got it to work.

Now I am having problems with the longCF plugin. It doesn't seem to be doing anything. Do I have to enable it or anything?

There is no configuration, you just have to change the type of the custom field to change the maximum length (choose Long Text).

I am trying to type a list into the Possible Values field and it stops me at 255 even when I select long text. I would like to be able to select list and then type in a list longer than 255 characters in the Possible Values field.

Any ideas?

The LongCF plugin does not increase the size of the default value field or Possible Values field.
