Well it took me a bit of time to get it. Here are some steps to reproduce ...
1.Create an empty « your_plugin » dir.
2.Add your files to the plugin directory.
3.Create, in « your_plugin », a file named install_manual_inc.php
4.Put the code page from this page => to install_manual_inc.php.
5.Use Vincent's magic generator => (Merci vincent) and put the created files into « yo

Getting there step by step.
I've used your example with the plugin Search to build my install_inc.php.
The installation works well and plugin is installed.
The problem is that the “uninstall” link is missing.
When I run manualy the . The plugin is removed (directory included) but the link stays. I've got already 5 undelete links .....
I've checked the plugin db tables :

I think that a simple generator of style 'hello world' would be enough.
After would be good to to implement the following possibilities to plugin manager :
1.add files
2.delete / rename file
3.rename / attribute name to plugin
This is all that a developer need to write the plugin.

Hi Vincent.
I'm trying to export 'search plugin' in 'pkg' format.
I'added the content of to package_inc.php in plugins/search directory. The plugin appear in the drop down 'Package a plugin' and is well exported in 'pkg' format, but when I try to reinstall the
exported 'pkg' files I get the error => 'File corrupted or not

I've replaced all the pluginmanager by the name of 'my plugin' in all functions. The plugin's installed without the option 'uninstall' and it's added one more link 'Plugins' among the links.

I've changed all the install/upgrade functions :
plugins_my_plugin_install_description_plugin
plugins_my_plugin_upgrade_description_plugin
plugins_my_plugin_install_plugin
plugins_my_plugin_upgrade_plugin
The $t_result['plugin'] display right the name of my plugin
It doesn't help. I'm still getting 'Install/Upgrade instructions missing'
