[Resolved] Reminder plugin does not send mails via web-interface
June 22, 2009 05:58PM
Hi there!

I was very pleased when I learned about the reminder plugin. However, I encountered difficulties: When I go to the mantis/plugins/reminder/reminder_send.php page, I end up in my_view_page.php -- although no reminder is ever sent.

$g_path is set to http://myserver/mantis (via config_inc.php)

I also tested the command line interface. This works basically (email sent), although the links are malformed since they depend on server-set variables.

Any help is highly appreciated -- thanks in advance!

Reinhard.

W2K3 server, IIS6, mantis 1.1.1

Did you set the configuration From host in the Reminder page?

Vincent,

I tried both, with and without from host set, but same result.

Cheers,

Reinhard.

It is mandatory to set it if you want to send reminders from the web interface. What did you write in this field?

Since I actually do not understand the meaning of the field, I tried several things:

empty
myservername
myservername.domain
mailserver.domain

none of these was successful. Maybe you could once more explain what this field means.

Thank you!

Reinhard.

The ip of my server is 192.168.0.1 (that's just an example).

I'm browsing Mantis with two computers (IP addresses are Computer 1: 192.168.0.2 and Computer 2: 192.168.0.3).

If I want to be able to send email from the computer 1 I need to fill 192.168.0.2 in the From Host field. So if I try to send email from computer 2, it will fail.

The from host field is here to prevent all people to send reminders, so only one computer is allowed to do it (in this example, it is computer 1).

Ok ok... I got the idea - although I wonder why it is restricted by workstation istead of user.

My server's IP is 10.70.18.3. My PC's IP is 10.70.18.42.

So I entered my PC's IP and tried => NOK

When I ticked the HTML browsing option it went OK ... which makes perfectly sense smiling smiley . Maybe you want to call this option like "Enable reminders from web interface" since the original wording suggests - to me - that it is an option somewhere deep down in a mailing system.

However, I made it running and I am very greatful for your support!

Thanks again, Reinhard.
