We tried installing both the released and development version of the Import/Export Plugin. The released version resulted in a fail on the Mantis version:

Check packager version 0.1.2
Plugin name Import/Export
Plugin version 0.0.4
Check the Apache version No test performed/required
Check the PHP version OK
Check the SQL version No test performed/required
Check the Mantis version FAIL
1.1.1 > 1.1.0a3
Installation FAIL

Then we tried the development version (0.1.0a7), but this also fails. First it gets a blank page, then when I go back to the plug in page it gives me:
Install/Upgrade a plugin
Installation FAIL

OS is Gentoo Linux. Using Xampp 1.6.4, for the apache, mysql, php.

Ok, so it's just the Import/export plugin install that fails. Can you take a look in the logs to see if there is an error during the plugin install?

Don't worry, I found a solution, I've changed the version number variable from 1.1.1 to 1.0.5, and I could install the plug in.

More installation issues for me. I'm basically getting the same blank page after trying to install. I've tried the 0.0.4 version and the 0.1.0a9 version from the previous thread. I've tried both through the URL which gives me a failed message and upload file which gives me a blank page.

I'm using the following:

Mantis: 1.1.1
Php: 5.2.3
Mysql: 5.0.45

I checked the error_log and nothing is logged to it when I get either the blank page for the Browse option or Failed message for using the URL version.

I thought it might be permissions again and found a backup folder and a file called custom_strings_inc.php that were owned by a different user. I switched them to the user that worked for the plugin manager installation and grant 777 to the files and directory. Still no luck

I can see the access_log being written to.

I don't see your webserver trying to donwload the file when you use the URL. Make sure that the PHP configuration allows fopen to open URL.

restarted apache and still no go, no log in error_log, just a blank page.

before that we didn't have a php.ini we just relied on the sample or default settings.

From the test file it looks like we need gzuncompress installed? I did a find and a locate and neither command located gzuncompress

My Linux admin here asked if the gzcompress and gzuncompress were required. He seemed to remember that they are compiled into php to gain access to these functions. They are not the file system commands like I was thinking.

Either way I don't have rights to install them and will have to wait until tomorrow to forge ahead with this.

Yes, PHP needs to be recompiled with gzlib support.
