Hello Mantis Plugin Community!

I am trying to figure out if I can create a Mantis plugin that would allow me to use the users, passwords, sessions, and to set permissions from my SMF forums so that a user only has to register once (with SMF) and can use that user name across all applications.

I have figured out what the MySQL queries would need to be to find the user and their password as well as the MySQL queries to set Mantis permissions (Reporter, Coder, etc.) but I am not familiar with the inner workings of Mantis and could really use some help.

Is it even possible for a Mantis plug to do this alternative method of authentication?

For reference I am working with Mantis 1.2.0rc2 for plugin support and SMF forums version 1.1.10.

It would be great to have the ability to add a selection from a user list (all users for the current project?) as a type of custom field. This would allow us to record extra information about who gave a specific estimate and link that back to the actual user. At the moment we use a text field for this but this is prone to typos, and an enum is too cumbersome given that users change frequently.

We have used Mantis for a couple of years and is now starting to use this plugin system as well. I'm missing a few features from the Graph plugin that I really need. We are using custom fields for estimated, actual and remaining time to solve an issue and it would be very cool with a graph that could show these fields as a function of time.

Custom field as Y and time as X and with a filter for target/fixed version.

I found that with MyReport the default value of VIEW_STATUS is always set to Public, while I would like to have only PRIVATE report.

I found the code on [color=#006600][b]bug_report_inc.php[/b][/color] file which is responsible for this. I modified just moving the 'checked' istruction down to PRIVATE section.

Now all reports are by default with private flag set.

In my opinion the best way to handling the Private vs Public status flag should be to read the type of Project (Private/Public) and set the view_status accordinly.
I'm not an expert but I could try to do something with some input if necessary.

We are planning to use MANTIS internally and externally (for customers to report bugs).

Here are some functions that we would like to have;

external form (create/modify bug page for clients)
external list (a list of bugs which clients are available to track/watch)
internal/external feedback (We want to display different states/messages on a bug; one for internal purpose and the other for external)

Docs: Also here there is a need of two different sections. One for developers and the other for customers.

Now to my suggestion;
Is it easier to handle this with user/group rights or is a plugin required? How easy is it to implement my requirements with a good knowledge of php?

Hi,

Could you set the section for assigning the people to get reminders to be a move > selection (moves the names into another list). This would make it easier to see who is set to get a reminder. As it is now it is too easy to accidentally remove a user and not know it.

Hi,

Can you add the option to select the different fields of the note? When I select to add note to the export it gives the note ID, note reporter... I would like to select which fields to export of the note.

But i need

where can i do this?
